Confronting Diamond: A Tactical Guide to the Second Sea’s Leaf-Crowned Challenger
Standing as a distinctive figure within the Second Sea, Diamond is a tall, medium-sized combatant recognizable by the elaborate leaf formation crowning his head. He is easily spotted sporting an open-chested green shirt paired with patterned brown trousers. Players looking to challenge him must travel to the prominent sunflower hill located in close proximity to the Café.
Diamond serves as a pivotal objective for mid-level players. Defeating him is not only a requirement for the Human V3 questline but also ranks among the most lucrative bounty missions in the Second Sea, providing rewards comparable to other high-value targets like Jeremy and Orbitus.
Mission Briefing & Combat Rewards
- Quest Requirements: This mission is issued by the Area 1 Quest Giver. Players must reach at least Level 750 to accept the challenge of defeating Diamond.
- Mission Payouts:
- Direct Reward: $25,000 Beli and 12,500,000 EXP.
- Kill Rewards: $1,000–$2,000 Beli, 100,000 EXP, and 18,750 Bounty/Honor.
- Equipment Drops: Diamond has a chance to drop the Longsword. Note: Interestingly, while his NPC model holds a Cutlass, the item he yields upon defeat is the Longsword.
Combat Analysis: Sword Mastery & Defensive Maneuvers
Diamond utilizes the legacy move-set associated with the Longsword. His kit is designed to punish players who linger in melee range, making mobility your primary defensive tool.
- Annihilate: Diamond performs a rapid, spinning slash sequence that stuns and inflicts damage on all nearby targets. Counter-play: Immediately disengage and maintain distance when you see the wind-up.
- Glorious Smash: Diamond teleports toward his target, marked by a signature white blur, followed by a heavy downward sword strike that triggers an AoE shockwave and launches players into the air. Counter-play: Utilize consistent side-dashing or timed Air Jumps to evade the point of impact.
- Air Slash: He fires a vertical, thin energy wave at the player. While the damage is moderate, it is his primary tool for ranged harassment. Counter-play: Similar to Glorious Smash, prioritize lateral movement or vertical jumps to dodge the projectile.
